Mad Dog Mail is a Democratic persuasion mail firm based in Fernandina Beach, Florida. It combines the talents of its principals to create a unique, full-scale direct mail firm.

We pride ourselves on being excellent general consultants and strategists as well as providing persuasive direct mail. We have experience in every facet of the campaign from creating that first budget to writing press releases. We know that the winning moment in a campaign is often produced by paying attention to detail at every step along the way. Because this is our philosophy, we prefer to get involved with each of our campaigns early in the process.

We are full-service mail firm that will craft each mail plan and mail piece based on the individual campaign’s polling and strategy. From the initial concepts to writing the copy to having the pieces printed, labeled, mailhoused and dropped at the post office, we handle the entire process for you so you can spend your time campaigning, instead of worrying about the mail.

Jon Anderson

Jon Anderson — President Jon Anderson was involved in political campaigns before he could drive, going door-to-door for judicial candidates in LaGrange, Georgia.

Since then, Jon has bounced around the South. In 2004, he was a Vice-President at Malchow Schlackman Hoppey & Cooper where his clients included Congressman Dan Boren, St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley, State Senator Kasim Reed and the United Bermuda Party.

Before learning the ropes of the direct mail business, Anderson was the Executive Director of the Georgia Democratic Party. There he ran an operation that included over 30 full time staff members and was responsible for close to $10 million in expenditures in 2002.

Campaigns and Elections magazine named him a rising star in 2002. As the joint House and Senate Caucus Director in Georgia in 2000, Anderson was directly responsible for over 40 campaigns and an operation that spent over $3.5 million, ran 32,000 points of television and over 230 individual pieces of mail for candidates across the state.

“One of the reasons I decided to go into direct mail is that I thought the direct mail for State House and Senate campaigns could be better. And, that fi rms should pay as much attention to someone running for the State House as they do someone running for the US House.”

Jon has his MA in Political Science from the University of Florida where he studied under pollster Bill Hamilton. He lives in Fernandina Beach, Florida with his wife Kim.

Jennifer Smith

Jennifer Smith- (Vice President) Jennifer Smith has been involved in Georgia campaigns for over a decade. As a teenager she cut her teeth by volunteering on difficult Democratic races in what was then-Republican dominated Gwinnett County.

Five years ago, after serving as a political staff writer for several Georgia newspapers including Creative Loafing and Southern Voice, Jennifer decided to leave the life of a reporter behind so she could work fulltime to help get Democrats elected to public office.

In 2005, Jennifer was the campaign manager for Atlanta City Councilwoman Anne Fauver in her successful reelection bid. Prior to that, Jennifer worked for Congresswoman Denise Majette in her bid for the United States Senate in Georgia. Jennifer clients have included Sen. Mary Squires, Rep. Roberta Abdul-Salaam, Rep. Jane Kidd, Stacey Abrams, Judge Sue Bell Cobb for Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.

Jennifer's goal as a consultant is to help get more women elected to public office.

Jennifer earned a BA in political science from Georgia State University and lives in Atlanta.
